This course covers science practices, mitosis, genetics, evolution, ecology, and climate change.
All sections of biology will cover these 6 units at a minimum, with varied levels of depth.
Each unit focuses on real life examples as the driving question for student learning.
Here are a few of our driving questions!
Mitosis- How do we acquire mutations and why are we exposed to more carcinogens in certain parts of the city than others?
Ecosystems/Ecology- How is the influx of coyotes affecting our urban ecosystems?
Climate change- How is climate change affecting Chicago?
