Pay Student Fees

LETTER REGARDING FEES
Dear Parents and Guardians,
 
As you embark on this educational journey with us, we would like to inform you about the Annual Student Activity Fee. A school fee is a nominal charge assessed to students enrolled at Amundsen High School to help cover certain specific school-related expenses not funded by regular school district revenue. This includes, but is not limited to, materials, extracurricular activities, and other student-oriented resources.  
 
A comprehensive list of student fees can be found on our school website at amundsenhs.org. It's important to note that, under the laws of the State of Illinois, public schools have the authority to implement such fees to ensure the provision of a comprehensive educational experience. These fees directly contribute to enriching our students' academic and extracurricular experiences, and we sincerely appreciate your understanding and support. Your cooperation in this matter is instrumental in providing the best for our student community. 
 
Families facing financial difficulties, who find themselves unable to afford school fees, have the option to submit a fee waiver application. Fee waivers can be accessed on the Amundsen High School website or from the main office. Your child's education is our priority, and we're here to support you in every way we can.

Pay your school fees through the ASPEN Parent Portal (the preferred method for payment)
 
ASPEN Parent Portal is synced directly to your student's account ensuring the most up to date, real time account information.
 
ASPEN Parent Portal Instructions:
View and pay mandatory school fees online through your ASPEN Parent Portal account. 
Once logged in:
  1. Click the "3-line menu bar" icon (top left side) on the HOME screen
  2. Click "Fees" 
  3. Click on the item/s you wish to pay 
  4. Click "Pay Online"
  5. Submit Payment Information
ASPEN Parent Portal Support: Having difficulty accessing ASPEN Parent Portal or have never created an account? Please email Mr Rodriguez at [email protected] for assistance. Include the student's first and last name, parent/gurdian first and last name and student ID number. 
 
In most cases, we are able to resolve issues at the school level. Once your account access has been restored/created you may complete your payment transaction through Aspen.
 
Note: Families may use our ePay website link as an alternate method to resolve payments or make payment installments. However, there is a processing delay for fees that are paid through ePay. These payments are recorded but do not instantly reflect in Aspen. While ePay is an option we strongly encourage mandatory school fees be paid using ASPEN Parent Portal whenever possible.
 
Optional School Fees: CTA Ventra cards, P.E. uniform/s, replacement ID's, Athletic/Sport Fees, Senior class event fees, etc... must be paid using our ePay website link.
 
What payment methods are accepted?

All valid Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express credit* and debit cards are accepted. E-checks are also accepted as a direct debit to your checking account by entering your bank routing and account number.   

 

Can I still pay with cash?

Cash payments are limited. All school related fee payments can be easily processed using a debit or credit card or as an e-check through the Aspen Parent Portal.

 

Can I pay with a personal check?

Personal checks are not accepted, unless processed as an e-Check in the ASPEN Parent Portal payment screen.

 

What if I can't afford student fees? 

Students are required to pay fees at the time of registration unless a request to defer payment is made with the business office. Fees must be paid no later than the end of the school year in which they were incurred. Fee waiver applications are available for families who are unable to pay school fees. To have applicable fees waived, families must apply each school year by Nov 1, and must attach proof of income documentation to the fee waiver application. Submit completed waiver applications to Mrs. Chinchilla at [email protected]. Fee waiver applications can be accessed from the left side menu of this page.
