About Ms. Poulos
What a great year to be a Viking! This year I am honored to teach five sections of English Language Arts to our wonderful Freshmen. When I'm not in the classroom, you can find me coaching the Girls Swim Team in the fall, and Girls Water Polo in the spring. Born and raised on the pool deck, I cherish my time getting to know our Vikings in the classroom AND in settings outside of the classroom (sports, music, clubs). I wholeheartedly believe in the power of knowing my students (academically and personally) in order to motivate them to succeed, and challenge them to set high expectations for themselves.
It's important for you to know that I love school! I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a Bachelor of Arts in 2007, the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) with a Master of Science, and I completed my teaching certification at our local Northeastern Illinois University (NEIU). I call it a (small) love and obsession with learning!
Students can find me in Room 314 during the day. Parents are encouraged to email me with any questions, concerns, or suggestions! My email is firstname.lastname@example.org.
Information about my class policies and grading scales can be found in the attached syllabus.
