Cameron McConnell

I am excited to begin my third year as a teacher and the head baseball coach at Amundsen High School. I grew up in the Chicagoland area the youngest of three children in a household that always stressed the importance of education. I earned a baseball scholarship to the University of Notre Dame, where I graduated in 2011. In 2018 I earned my Masters in Education from Cameron University, where I also was an assistant baseball coach. This is my fourth year teaching; I taught my first year at a charter school in Chicago.

I believe in empowering students to find their unique, individual voices by creating a classroom culture that allows students' voices to be heard and valued. Every day students will be challenged to think critically and make relevant real world connections to the curriculum. I strive to push all students to become global citizens by increasing their knowledge of the world. Students will also be pushed towards college readiness by improving their literacy skills, self-advocacy, and responsibility.

Students and parents will have access to assignments and important documents (i.e. syllabus, grading policy, office hours) through Google Classroom. Please sign up!
