Cameron McConnell

I am excited to begin my fourth year at Amundsen High School. My roles at Amundsen include being the Dean of Culture and Climate, the head varsity baseball coach and also the head flag football coach. I grew up in the Chicagoland area the youngest of three children in a household that always stressed the importance of education. I earned a baseball scholarship to the University of Notre Dame, where I graduated in 2011. In 2018 I earned my Masters in Education from Cameron University, where I also was an assistant baseball coach. This is my fifth year teaching; I taught my first year at a charter school in Chicago.

I believe in empowering students to find their unique, individual voices by creating a culture that allows students' voices to be heard and valued. Every day students will be challenged to think critically and I strive to push all students to become global citizens by increasing their knowledge of the world. Students will also be pushed towards college readiness by improving their self-advocacy and responsibility.
