Introduction

Hello! I am a Diverse Learner teacher and the Cluster Program Chair at Amundsen High School. I graduated Summa Cum Laude from DePaul University with a Bachelor of Science in Special Education, LBSI Certification, and a Minor in Applied Psychology. I am currently pursuing my Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction Design. While this is only my 6th year teaching, I have worked with children and people with disabilities for over 15 years. In my free time, I volunteer with two organizations that commit to empowering kids, teens, and adults living with a disability: Best Buddies Inc. and Miss Amazing Inc.

Participating in athletics was a huge part of my educational journey, which is the driving force behind my involvement with the Athletic Department. I am the Head Coach of the Amundsen Special Olympics Team. Involvement on campus is a crucial part of any high school experience. Amundsen is a place that offers a variety of clubs to help each student find their community within these walls. As an advocate for involvement and an advocate for the international non-profit organization, I started the Amundsen Best Buddies chapter and act as the club sponsor here on campus.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and toddlers, traveling, reading books with my book club, and watching movies.

For the 2023-2024 Academic School Year, I will teach Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Environmental Science), Math, and Exploring Computer Science in the Cluster Program. Please reference Google Classroom for class information.
