Course Description

This course focuses on language acqusition and the development of the productive, receptive and interactive language skills. It is based on the five IB themes: Identities, Experiences, Human ingenuity, Social organization and Sharing the planet. Through the study of the five prescribed IB themes, the use of authentic materials, theme-based units, and interdisciplinary projects, students  improve proficiency in the four language domains: listening, reading, speaking and writing. This course prepares students for Spanish IV and for the IB Spanish B Language exam which consists of reading comprehension, writing and an individual speaking assessment. The class is conducted  mostly in Spanish.
