Course Description

This course focuses on language acqusition and the development of the productive, receptive and interactive language skills. It is based on the three IB core themes: Social Relationships, Global Issues, Communication and Media, and the five IB options Cultural Diversity, Customs and Traditions, Health, Leisure, Science and Technology. Through the study of the IB core themes, IB options, and the use of authentic materials, theme-based units, and interdisciplinary projects, students  improve proficiency in the four language domains: listening, reading, speaking and writing. At the end of this course students take the IB Spanish B Language exam which consists of reading comprehension, writing and an interactive/individual speaking assessment. The class is conducted entirely in Spanish.
