Spanish I & II are beginning foreign language classes covering skills that enable the students to understand, read, write and speak the target language in a culturally acceptable manner. Students will function in the language in context and will demonstrate an understanding of Hispanic culture, geography, and history and their influence on the Spanish language. The course is designed to teach beginning grammar and basic vocabulary, with an emphasis on meaningful communication. There is also a cultural component that exposes students to the geography and cultures of the Spanish-speaking world.

Include the location in the city, when it was built, current uses, and other significant information. Compare the “plaza” to a well-known outdoor space in a U.S. city or town. Include visual aids such as maps and pictures.
