PART III: Customer Interview in Google Classroom

PART III: Customer Interview

You are to pretend you are a sales associate, and using the information you and your group have gathered from Part I (Computer Devices Spreadsheet), you are to recommend a device from your list to a friend or family member that is currently interested in purchasing a desktop, laptop, tablet, smart-phone, smart-watch, or gaming console.

Your first task is to generate a list of questions (minimum 10) that you will use in the interview.

**EACH GROUP IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT THEIR QUESTIONS VIA GOOGLE DOC BY THE END OF THE CLASS PERIOD TO MR. LAPO FOR APPROVAL**

**NO SUBMISSION = NO POINTS**

**ONE GOOGLE DOC PER GROUP**

In your interview, you must highlight the reasons/ requirements this person is purchasing a (new) device. Be sure to detail why you believe this device is the right fit for your person, and rationalize why you recommend this device with its particular specifications (i.e. why did you recommend a MAC over a PC, or one processor over another, or what's significant about a device's storage capacity, etc. - see the sample script below for details).

Be careful not to oversell or undersell them on an item; this means that the device you recommend should meet their exact needs - no more, no less. Asking them what their budget is, is a good start. If none of the devices adhere to your 'customer's' needs, have an alternative choice ready (this may require additional research).

Lastly, you must capture your interview with this 'customer' on audio or video. The interview should be between 1 and 3 minutes in length. You may use any Android or Apple mobile device to record it. Be sure that it is audible, clean, and school appropriate.

**EACH PERSON IN THE GROUP IS REQUIRED TO CONDUCT THEIR OWN INTERVIEW**

**YOU WILL SUBMIT TWO FILES VIA THIS ASSIGNMENT POST: A TRANSCRIPT OF YOUR INTERVIEW AND EITHER AN AUDIO OR VIDEO FILE**

**SEE ATTACHED RUBRIC FOR DETAILS**

**THIS PART OF THE PROJECT IS DUE MONDAY, NOVEMBER 4TH**

4. The same person who OPENED and SHARED the document should also be the one to SUBMIT it.

Your objective is to match the person in your scenario with their ideal computing device. The device you pair them with should meet their described needs and budget. You must be able to rationalize (explain) why this device is a good match for this person. Be sure to explain why you chose that specific device; think about the varying speeds and storage capacities of each of the major components (CPU, HDD, RAM, etc.). How or why did that factor into your decision?
