I'm excited to start my third year at Amundsen and ninth year as an English teacher! This year, I will be teaching Co-taught English III with Ms. Salvador and Mr. Craig.
Students will read stories from diverse authors and engage in research and conversations about issues of social justice and identity. These discussions are grounded in a shared understanding of empathy and the practice of perspective taking.
Throughout the year, students will also regularly produce written work, engage in editing and revision, participate in scholarly discussions, and improve their vocabulary.
I want to ensure that all of my students have the opportunity to reach their full potential. I will do my part in helping students achieve their potential by: updating Google Classroom, responding promptly to emails, providing feedback and chances to show growth, entering grades regularly, checking in on students, assuming best intentions, encouraging constructive feedback, and creating a safe space for all students to engage in meaningful conversations.
I am looking forward to being back in the classroom with my students, but I also understand that this transition has it's share of difficulties for teachers, students, and their families. If you have any concerns regarding the class, student success, or personal matters that may be affecting your ability to succeed, please contact me via email at [email protected].
