I am exited to begin teaching my first year at Amundsen High School. As a Chicago native that grew up not far from the school in Albany Park, I understand and value experiencing such a diverse neighborhood and attending such a diverse school. I am a product of CPS that graduated from Lane Tech and went on to earn a teaching degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Although this is my first year at Amundsen, this will be my 14th year teaching for CPS. I spent my first seven years teaching at Roberto Clemente Community Academy and the past six years teaching at Sarah E. Goode STEM Academy.
My educational philosophy is to empower students by creating a classroom culture in which students' voices are heard and valued. Students will use critical thinking skills everyday and make real world connections to the curriculum and strive to become global citizens. Students will move towards being college ready by improving literacy skills as evidenced by attaining mastery of Common Core Standards.
Students and parents will have access to assignments and important documents through Google Classroom. Please sign up!
