I teach Advanced Algebra with Trigonometry and IB Math Applications and Interpretation I. As the course team lead for Advanced Algebra with Trigonometry, I focus on increasing the depths of knowledge through the use of the Standards of Mathematical Practice. I was also a Google Certified Educator for Level 1 and Level 2 and a Change Champion for the ASPEN system. This is my 20th year of teaching!
I am certified to teach high school mathematics, English as a Second Language and middle school mathematics. I graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a major in Mathematics and a minor in English as an International Language. I joined the Chicago Teaching Fellowship and received a master degree from National-Louis University. I am also a proud member of the MSU-Wipro STEM and Leadership Fellowship Cohort 2.
This fall, my oldest is starting 6th grade, my second child starts 4th grade, and my youngest starts kindergarten. Besides spending time with my family, I enjoy being outside in my garden. I have the true honor of receiving the Jordnt Joy of Teaching Award in May 2020.
