ANNOUNCING | LSC Community Rep Vacancy
The Amundsen LSC has one community representative vacancy to fill for the 2025-26 school year. We will be filling this vacancy at the October LSC meeting on Tuesday, October 21, at 6pm at Amundsen. We invite all interested candidates to attend this meeting to speak briefly on their qualifications and interest in serving on the LSC. On that date, the LSC will also conduct a vote.

SHOUT OUT | College Fair
Shout out to our Amundsen Community, Administration, Teachers, Counselors, and Staff for supporting our College Fair on Wednesday, Sept. 24th. A special thank you to Ms. Suh, Ms. Maldonado, and Ms. Plunkett for organizing our college fair with over 70 College/Universities rep to meet with over 600 AHS students.
THIS FALL | College Rep Visits
Register to attend one of the fall college rep visits in Schoolinks. Learn more about the admissions process, programs, and school offerings in a smaller setting and maybe even discover your dream college! Students must register for attendance purposes (if missing a class) and are responsible for making up assignments and missing work. This week we will have reps from Northwestern University (10/6), University of Michigan (10/8), University of Wisconsin-Madison (10/10), and Hampshire College 10/10). View the flyer here.

ARTS | Broadway Teen Intensive
Porchlight Music Theatre is offering a Broadway Teen Intensive for students interested in auditioning for college theater programs, or simply building confidence and performance skills. The class runs Saturdays, October 18–November 22, 10 AM–12 PM, at 4200 W. Diversey Ave., led by musical theater expert Frankie Leo Bennett.
Students can sample the first week for $25, which will be applied toward registration if they continue. For details and registration, click here.
ARTS | All-City Visual Arts (ACVA) Exhibitions!
Applications are now open to submit artwork for the All-City Visual Arts (ACVA) exhibitions! ACVA provides unique opportunities for CPS students to showcase their achievements in visual and media arts in highly visible, public exhibition spaces in Chicago. Applications for the Senior Portfolio Exhibition (only CPS students in grade 12 are eligible to participate) are open October 1 - November 23, 2025, and applications for the All-City PreK–12 Visual Art Exhibitions (all CPS students in grades K–12 are eligible to participate) are open October 1, 2025 – February 22, 2026. Senior parents, counselor are sending home the transcript release form for any senior under 18 years old. Please sign and have the student return to Ms. Plunkett (deadline is October 10).

The financial aid application opens on October 1, 2025! Amundsen is here to help. Please register for our upcoming workshops if you want assistance completing the financial aid application (FAFSA or Illinois Alternative Application).
