REMINDER | Senior Events
Senior event tickets for both Prom and the Bowling Luncheon are now live in Aspen’s Parent Portal. A prom ticket at the rate of $165 and a bowling luncheon ticket at $30 have been added as debts to the accounts of all eligible seniors. All payments must be completed in Aspen by midnight on May 8. After this deadline, unpaid ticket debts will be removed, and we will not be able to accommodate any additional purchases due to final headcount commitments with venues.
Students who plan to bring a guest (non-Amundsen senior) to prom must submit a completed guest form, which will result in a second prom ticket being added to their Aspen account. Guest forms are due by May 4 to ensure payment can be completed by May 8. Forms are available in Room 128.
If your student would like a vegetarian meal or has any dietary restrictions, you must email AP Ortiz at [email protected]
If no request is submitted, the default meal will be chicken for prom and a pizza buffet for the luncheon.
Students attending the Bowling Luncheon must also return a signed permission slip, available in Room 128.

Students in this program are three times more likely to graduate from college. To be eligible, students must be in 10th grade, have at least a 2.5 GPA, demonstrate interest in earning a bachelor’s degree, and meet income eligibility requirements. Families can learn more and apply here.

CELEBRATIONS | State Science Fair Success
We also want to recognize our Viking scientists for their performance at the 99th Annual IJAS State Science Exposition at SIU Carbondale. Amundsen is currently ranked 6th place in Division B overall. The Algebra 1 Team earned 3rd place in Division B, with Prudence S. and Edgar M. recognized as team high scorers. Sarah H. led the Geometry team as high scorer, and Peter M. earned high scorer honors for Algebra 2. CELEBRATIONS | Viking Theatre Company
Our Viking Theatre Company continues to build on the success of their recent production of Little Shop of Horrors. The production is now being considered for the Illinois High School Musical Theatre Awards, competing against nearly 100 schools across the state. Nominations include best performer, best ensemble, best direction, and best production. We are incredibly proud of our student performers and crew, and we look forward to hearing results later this month.

REQUEST | Art Department Donation – Beads Needed
Our art department is asking for support from the community. Students have been invited to design a window display for a local Andersonville business, and one of their concepts involves the use of beads. If you have any beads at home—any color or size—and are willing to donate, please drop them off in the main office labeled for Mrs. MacBeth or send them with your student to Room 303. We appreciate your support in helping bring student creativity to life.
