REMINDER | LSC Vacancies
We are currently looking to fill three LSC vacancies for the 2025-26 school year:
One parent representative, and two community representatives. We invite all interested candidates to attend the September LSC meeting on Tuesday, September 16, at 6pm in the Amundsen library to speak briefly on their qualifications and interest in serving on the LSC. REMINDER | Clubapalooza 2025
Club-a-Palooza, our annual showcase of student clubs and activities, will be taking place this Thursday, August 28th, at 3:00pm on the Amundsen front lawn. This is a perfect chance to see everything AHS has to offer, meet student leaders, and discover ways to get involved. We can’t wait to see you there!
UPDATE | Morning Entry and Attendance
Our broken metal detector should be repaired any day now, and we look forward to a much smoother morning entry process. We are so proud of how our Vikings have handled this temporary challenge. While state law requires schools to record attendance accurately, students are not penalized if their late arrival is due to long entry lines. Attendance records are for internal use only and do not appear on transcripts and are not shared with colleges.
NEW | College Possible is Recruiting Juniors
College Possible is a free program designed to guide students through the entire college application process, from ACT prep and college essays to scholarships and financial aid. We also help students plan for life after high school through college field trips, after-school sessions, and more. Students in our program are three times more likely to graduate from college! To be eligible, students must: ✅ Be in 10th grade ✅ Have a 2.5 GPA or higher ✅ Wants to earn a Bachelor’s degree ✅ Meet income eligibility requirements. Arrival and Dismissal Safety Reminder
We ask all families to use extra caution during arrival and dismissal to help keep our students safe. These are the busiest times of the day, and with so many students walking, biking, and boarding buses, we all play a role in creating a safe environment. Please avoid U-turns near crosswalks or school entrances, always yield to pedestrians, and drive slowly through the school zone. It is especially important to keep the area in front of the school clear for buses transporting students. Parking here can cause delays and unsafe conditions. Thank you for helping us keep our students and community safe!
