Join the GEAR UP and Amundsen Counseling teams as we talk about GEARing UP for College! This event will take place at Amundsen on Saturday, March 9th from 10am-1pm. Parents can choose from a series of workshops to better prepare families for the college application process. We will have workshops for families such as Paying for College, Choosing a College, and much more! A light breakfast will be provided. This event is open to the families of Amundsen Freshmen, Sophomores and Juniors. Spanish translation will be available.

Amundsen Freshmen are on track for Success!

Congratulations to the Amundsen Class of 2022 for achieving a Freshmen-on-Track rate of 97% during the first semester! The FOT rate s a key predictor of high school success. Students who finish the ninth-grade year on track are almost four times as likely to graduate from high school as students who are not on track. We are proud of our freshmen and their teachers for working so hard to make sure that the class of 2022 is on the right path for college and career success.

Amundsen Students: What are YOU doing this summer?

You could hang out at the beach but why not apply to an enrichment program? Enrichment opportunities are offered by universities, foundations, government offices, and businesses. They allow students to learn new skills and to discover future careers. Students can do STEM internships, work for a public official, and take early college classes. Many enrichment programs are free and others provide scholarships. Some programs are local, and others involve travel. Amundsen provides help and support to students applying to these opportunities through scheduled info sessions and by providing a regularly updated list of opportunities that is linked to the AHS website (top right-hand corner). All students are encouraged to apply to these programs and to check out the AHS calendar for the dates of upcoming information sessions.
