5th Period Exploring Computer Science

ECS is designed to introduce students to the field of computer science by engaging them in social and technical topics. This course is designed to teach students how computer hardware, software, and services are used to help solve problems, and enhance our everyday lives. The goal of ECS is to develop students’ abilities to think critically, recognize the invaluable impact of technology in solving problems, and foster team-building skills essential for their educational and professional lives. In this course students will learn about the different computing devices and digital forms of communication, work with online services to build and stylize web pages, explore cyber security and privacy, strengthen keyboarding skills, create software programs with real-world applications, and discover the world of robotics.
