US History 19-20-Period 4 Assignments

Our assignment this week is a reflection on the current events from the past week. Even if you have not completed all of the other assignments during remote learning, I feel that this is an important one to do.

Attached is the complete lesson packet for the week. This is due by Friday at midnight. Please view the lesson plan document as well to see your task for each day.

Mass media has changed drastically over the years. This week we are going to look at a few forms of different media to see how they have changed over time and how they have changed our daily lives. Complete each day’s work using complete sentences and online research when requested.

We have previously asked you to keep a journal as primary source documentation of your experiences during the Covid-19 pandemic. Then, we completed tasks that gave you skills to determine if a source was conservative, liberal, or neutral to detect bias. This week, we are going to have you read selected articles, summarize the content, analyze their bias, and reflect in a journal entry at the end.

This week we are looking at bias in new reporting. You will analyze four news sources this week to see how they are reporting the same news differently. Today, read the provided article from Associated Press (AP) and complete the section of the chart using full sentences. The document to answer and link to the AP article are on Google Classroom.

In class work. I don’t have pictures of the posters y’all created, so you’ll have to look that information up online if you are still missing this assignment.
