PLEASE attach a copy of your Decision Day template here so I can learn all about your future plans as well.  I am not available to be in the auditorium for your entire celebration so I want to see your slides.

Blood Case Studies (Hematology)

You will examine each of the cases on the
slides and determine the diagnosis.

Compare the normal values from slide 2
with the patients values. Use a yellow
highlighter to indicate values that are
outside the normal range for EACH
PATIENT.

Determine a diagnosis for each patient, record it on their slide,  and write your reasoning for that
diagnosis.

Since we had the Lurie presentations today and no time to work on this in class, the due date will be Wednesday midnight.  Tomorrow will be our last set of notes, then Wednesday is time to work on this new assignment, and Thursday we can do Key Terms review and have time to study, do extra credit, and missing work.

Using any household/craft materials, use your creativity super powers to make a 3D model of a neuron today DURING class with a partner. Upload your photo of your finished neuron to this post, and make a comment with your partner name(s).

Sorry to miss school!  I am super excited to be attending professional development downtown at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine to learn more about being a terrific teacher of Anatomy and Physiology, the study of the human body.  I will be back tomorrow.

Hello everyone! Please complete your key terms review for the test tomorrow first. After you complete that, you may work on missing assignments, you may study, or you may do this extra credit option that is due tomorrow morning before the test begins if you want extra credit. The key terms review should be on the front desk in our classroom and there are note cards at the front counter along the window by the human torso model. Be honorable accountable and scholarly Vikings while I'm gone please and get ready to rock the test tomorrow.

Due for oral presentation in the front of the class Friday 11/3. Thur 11/2 will be a period with chromebooks for you to finish research.


Each pair of students will create a 5 slide minimum Google Slides presentation on their assigned condition.                  
               
In your own words as best as possible,                
(1)define the condition,                
(2)explain how it is caused or how it works,                
(3)give examples and photos,                
(4)explain how it can be treated                
(5)explain how it relates to the Integumentary System with what kind of cells or tissues are involved

Today we will also choose our topics and partners for the Beauty and the Beast Skin Conditions research project due Friday 11/3.

Today we will practice defining and dissecting gummy bears into the 3 body planes--transverse, sagittal, and frontal.  You will work with a partner and attach your ONE PER PAIR dissected gummy bear photo with LABELED BODY PLANES to this post on GC.  

**If you are absent, you can draw your 3 gummy bears as you imagine they would look if you cut them into each of 3 body planes and attach your LABELED drawing here.  If you randomly have gummy bears, feel free to use them and a kitchen knife safely.

We also finished our Unit 1 notes with Section 4 notes on Anatomical Terminology.  Start the PPT on slide 49 to get these notes down.

You may work with ONE partner.  You must write a private comment on your assignment with your partner's name so I know who to give a grade to.   This is due Sunday by midnight.

The Tissue Types graphic organizer review can be done on paper if you are in class.  If you are absent, make a copy and share that with me when you are done.  You may work with the same partner on this.  Turn the paper in the turn in bin in class today or Tuesday when we return.

For everyone, in class or absent, use these diagrams to practice your understanding of negative feedback loops to maintain HOMEOSTASIS.  

READ the instructions CAREFULLY.  On the first page, you may use your notes.  On the second page, you may NOT use your notes.  You may NOT use temperature as your example on the second page as we have already gone over it.  Grab a textbook or google for help with an example.

You should work on this first, and finish today in class.  It is due TODAY by midnight.
