This assignment is optional and will be counted as extra credit.

Define adaptation.
List examples of adaptations.
 

You will be assigned one of the eight examples of adaptations.  Review the resource provided below and be prepared to share the at least one  and  that has evolved in response. 
A student will share information for the other examples of adaptations.  You'll annotate your note packet with information shared. 

You may work alone or with a partner.  
Open the set of slides below.
For each source of genetic variation, deduce the description, the result, and the sketch! 
Add the information to your note packet. 
 The completed notes in the packet will be stamped on Tuesday, January 18th.

Once finished with the lab by collecting data, answering questions, and writing a conclusion, please add the data to page 3 of the noted packet.

Use the slides to add notes and diagrams to the blank space on page 3 of the note packet. The notes packet is linked below if you are at home and don't have the packet with you.  If you are unable to print then recreate page 3 as you see it in the note packet on your own paper.

Please take notes on pages 1-2 of the notes packet that Ms. Westervelt will distribute today in class.  This will stamped when class starts and will count for a grade.

Make sure you have completed through the vision system on page 7.  I will stamp them if complete at the beginning of class tomorrow.

To help you connect what we are learning in class to your home lives, choose one of the options below to complete 
Option 1: Take a photo of something in your life that is related to our puzzling phenomenon. Write a short description (1-2 paragraphs) explaining what the image shows and how it relates to an individual getting cancer or the treatment of cancer.
Option 2: Interview a family member and have them share a story that relates to the phenomenon. Record your family member’s story in 1-2 paragraphs



If you choose option 1 then you can attach the photo.

This is an optional assignment and will be counted as extra credit.  This assignment is due before school on September, 10th, the day of our Unit 1 Quiz.
