Letter to 9th Grade Parents/Guardians
The attached letter explains the grading process for students who are going to receive an incomplete in 9th grade English and/or Math (Algebra).

Congratulations to the Amundsen Academic Decathlon Team for advancing to the City Finals to be held Saturday February 4, 2012 at Whitney Young High School.
The team won a total of 17 medals and certificates. 7 in mathematics, 4 in language and literature, 2 in science, 2 in art and 2 in super quiz. All 8 competing decathletes won an award. Fiddia Zahra was the team’s high scorer. The team competed in the Purple North Cluster. Click for individual results.

Regional Science Fair on Friday Jan 27, 2012 at Northeastern Illinois University
Congratulations to the following student for receiving Outstanding Mention: Mohammad Alawawdeh, Jonathan Du, Sarra Ghezali, Sadeka Ismail, Mohammed Khan, Ngan Le, Fiddia Zahra; and Oscar Plata received an Excellent Mention. The Outstanding Mention students will be advancing to the City Science Fair which will be held at the Museum of Science and Industry during March 23-25, 2012.

Congratulations to Mohammad Alawawdeh, Micheal Chavez and Sarra Ghezali for winning the "Posse" Scholarship!
Mohammad will be attending Trinity College in Connecticut, Michael will be going to DePauw University in Indiana, and Sarra to Denision University in Ohio.

Freshman Food Drive: 1st Place HR 502 (Lee), 2nd Place HR 506 (Matassa), 3rd Place HR 503 (Lhabrang)
Thank you to all the students who participated in the Food Drive. The donated food will be given to the American Indian Center in Chicago. Happy Holidays!
