DP Math Applications and Interpretation SL

This is an advanced level class. Students taking this course need to be already equipped with fundamental skills and a rudimentary knowledge of basic processes. The course concentrates on mathematics that can be applied to contexts related as far as possible to other subjects being studied, to common real-world occurrences and to topics that relate to home, work and leisure situations. The course topics covered during junior year are more aligned to the SAT. During their senior year, students will submit an internal assessment and take the IB examination.  Topics covered over the two-year sequence are: Number and Algebra, Functions, Geometry and Trigonometry, Probability and Statistics, and Calculus.

This course is also offered as an accelerated, one-year class during the junior year. *Teacher recommendation required*
