The objective of our program is to help students mentally and physically learn to perform effective and safe skills behind the wheel of a vehicle in real life events that will carry on for the rest of their lives.
We offer after school drivers classes, range/simulation, and traffic to fulfill the Illinois Graduate Licensing Program.
$20.00 permit fee (cashier's check or money order made payable to "Secretary of State"
Permit application with parent signature and proof of classroom completion
Pay the $50.00 to the CPS through the Illinois E-pay website and forward the email of the receipt to Mr. Harlston firstname.lastname@example.org
Please fill out application online with the access code, Mr. Harlston will have the code. After completion please come into the trailer to finalize and print the application. Once completed parents must sign and return with a $20 check made out to the Secretary of State. The link to the permit is below.
The Illinois State Board of education in conjunction with the Illinois secretary of state office has issued the following Drivers education requirements:
Students finishing the entire Drivers Education Program (30 classroom hours, 3 range hours, and 6 Behind The Wheel Hours) will be able to go to the Secretary of State Facility for their drivers license, 9 months after Permit issued, or if he/she turns 18 before the issue date.
Students need to check their status before going to the Secretary of State office.

Bring the following to the Secretary of State after completing Drivers Education at Amundsen:
2.Car or Waiver
3. 50 Hour Sheet
4. Birth Certificate and Social Security Card
5. Must be 16 and have permit for 9 months and 1 day
6. Parents with ID
7. Students must have either a piece of mail, report card or transcript with their address on it
