Meet Jorie Pesce
My name is Jorie Pesce and I teach English I, English III, and ESL Transitional 3/4, as well as coordinate the English Learner (EL) Program. Here's a little bit about me:
- I celebrated a decade of teaching last year, and five of those years are at Amundsen! My teaching experience includes 9th-10th grade English, 9th-12th grade English as a second language, and 7th grade Language Arts.
- I appreciate the IB philosophy and teach students to be global-minded people, strong communicators, critical thinkers, and caring individuals.
- I incorporate students' identities, cultural backgrounds, and opinions into my teaching, and utilize students as teachers as much as possible.
- Outside of the classroom, I love to coach Amundsen's Girls Badminton team, support our EL newcomers, and sponsor the Viking Book Club!
To learn more about my classes, please visit my other pages. There, you'll find information about the course, syllabi, and other helpful resources. Below, there are links to Google Classroom, where even more information is given on a weekly (and sometimes daily) basis.
I can always make myself available to help students, and believe one-on-one or small group support from a teacher is the best way to learn. Extra support for students and/or families can be requested via e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thanks for visiting!
