SC Bio (Period 7th )

Biology is the study of living organisms, on many different levels.  Biology is amazing and there is always something incredible to uncover!  We will investigate different biological phenomena and learn how biology applies to our own lives.  We will focus our inquiries on science and engineering practices that will develop our skills as scientists.  It is important that students gain independence, confidence, and skills needed to plan and carry out investigations, analyze data, develop models, construct explanations, and design solutions, not just memorize facts.  The process of thinking and working like a scientist can help you on any future career path. This curriculum will challenge you to think, create your own explanations and models, and will be very different from what you might be used to in science.  Through our inquiries, experiments, and discussions, our understanding of biology will grow and we will begin to understand the incredible diversity of life on earth, and the amazing similarities shared by all living things.
