The Dual Credit History class is open to seniors who attain a 550 on English and reading SAT exam or pass the Chicago Community College entrance exam (see Mrs. Maldonado or your counselor for details) and have successfully passed US History prior to the start of the school year. The course is at the advanced level offering increased value for High school grades at C or better, and credit is award through Chicago Community Colleges. For transferable grades to universities at a B or A level of achievement, students will receive 3 semester hours (savings of at least $700). The History 111 college freshman syllabus is used with modifications for a high school year and school. The syllabus, supply list and class rules are attached.

Read the attached syllabus for class information. Below is a supply list for class:
- 3-ring binder between 1 and 1 1/2 inches (just for this class), test rings to be sure they close
- 5-6 dividers with tabs for the binder
- Wide-ruled notebook paper
- 4 folders with pockets and center tabs (gussets)
- Black or blue pens (erasable preferred)
- Red pen (erasable if possible)
- #2 pencils with good erasers, not mechanical pencils
- Highlighters (3 different colors)
- Small set of coloring pencils (erasable only!)
- 12" ruler
- USB thumb drive
- Access to a computer with Microsoft Office and a printer
Many of these items can be purchased at Dollar Tree. Sales on school supplies are early in the summer and late August.
