HS1 IB MYP United States Hist-Ross 004 Assignments

No late or re-do will be given.  Make sure you review each item in each section for HICROM (heading, ink, complete, rings, order, maintenance).  It is a great time to collaborate with classmates to check for the best possible grade on this summative assessment.  We've gone over the contents and order of the items several times in class.

Hard copies ere given in class for anticipation, viewing, and discussion corrections.

As a study guide, go over the 6 maps, 2 political cartoons, 2 charts, and 2 sets of documents in homework folders 7-12.  The questions will be different, but the exhibits will be the same.  Hide the choices of the questions below the exhibits and try to answer the questions from the exhibit.  If extra time is needed, you may have it before 1st period as early as 7:00 am on Thursday morning to room 214.  Test decorum will be followed.  Stash your electronic devices in your backpack and place your backpack along the walls.  Use of electronics anytime during the class period (50 minutes) will result in a 0 for the final.  Late arrivals and passes will be counted as part of the test time.

This is an in-class assignment and assesses your cognitive thinking skills (ATL).

This is an optional task in NEWSELA.  To receive credit for the Project/Paper/Portfolio category you MUST submit both the quiz at 75%+ AND a one paragraph response of 5-8 sentences using "evidence".  It must be submitted by 3 pm on Thursday, December 16th.  NO EXEPTIONS.

In class exam of 50 objective questions is a state requirement for graduation from high school.  It will be done in class.

There are several parts to this project. A hard copy will be given in class. A Google Doc may be submitted IF completed and sent by September 27th at 6 pm.

Read, annotate, and summarize the Background Essay (10 points)
Read each of the four documents (A-D) and answer the 17 questions about the documents (34)
Complete the "chicken foot" organizer for a solid thesis statement (6 points)

Binders will be on time, well-organized, neat, and useful for being successful in class.  The PowerPoint attached is a guide to prepare your first binder.  FYI: we've gone over this at least twice each week.  Do well!

Create a brochure about you.  It is a Summative PPP (papers, projects, portfolios) grade.  Instructions are attached if needed.

This is work for in-class pairs.  Please note that hard copies will be given in class.  Each student must submit their own copy with their name first and then their partner's.

We will work on this in class on Tuesday, September 7th.  The slide show will help the beginning stages of this Executive Functioning part of the class.  Please be prepared with your binder, dividers, and a PEN. Once you have organized the binder following directions, please mark this done and submit it.

Hi, Y'all!
This is what you'll need for our class ASAP (be reasonable with that!):
binder with at least 5 dividers (not a spiral notebook!!!)
wide-ruled paper
black/blue AND red pens (erasable is best); a couple of #2 pencils with erasers that work well
either two plastic or four paper folders with BOTH pockets AND center tabs (buy them now while prices are good)
Other stuff is in the syllabus...this is what you'll need for a great start.
